Details

This marble run system from Haba is all about versatility and play value. It is the starter set that forms the basis for all Haba ball track systems. There are 42 beech wood pieces in the set which includes marbles, blocks, direction changers, bridges, ramps, bell and a very funky zig zag track. Like all Haba building systems the pieces are all based on a 4x4x4cm cube, meaning it is compatible with Haba building block sets. Just think of the creations you can come up with! Age guide: from 3-10 years according to the manufacturer, however we think adults and grandies will also love this.

Hi Joshua, you construct the track using the blocks and clamps. Some of the blocks have holes in them that allow the marble to pass through. The ramp tracks are angled meaning the marble passes down the track and through the block construction.

Do the pieces lock together giving it some stability or do they sit on top of each other like regular blocks?

Hi Sally, the pieces are compatible with Haba blocks and are based on the same dimensions. They sit on top of each other like regular blocks, but you can use the plastic clamps (sold separately) to connect them together - http://www.entropy.com.au/haba-ball-track-marble-run-clamps

MARBLE RUN FUN
I bought the Marble Run and an extension for my little man's 4th birthday. I bought it on sale, but would pay full price as the joy my boy and his older sister have had from it has been immeasurable. Watching them build the run, work out the best way for the marbles to go, and the sheer delight when it works, is so exciting. I can see that this will last for years to come, which is rare in children's toys. Thank you so much. It's such a thrill to see children so excited and enthralled.

A little addition
I forgot to add, that the reason that I only rated the quality as 4 stars is because the string holding the bell on keeps breaking. This is really a minor issue, and will be easily fixed with some new stronger string. Otherwise the blocks are lovely :)

Brilliant Marble Run
I got this for my kids as a shared Birthday present. I wasn't sure about it, as it costs a lot, however, I am so happy we got it. They absolutely love it - they are only 3 and 5 so make quite simple runs, but they love figuring out how to put blocks together so that the marbles run smoothly. We also have a Haba building block set, so the colourful blocks add to this run really nicely. Definitely a worthwhile investment!

Best Purchase Ever!
We bought this for our two boys (aged 3 and 4.5) for Christmas last year. 12 months on and it is still being played with for literally hours every week. It is pricey but definitely worth the investment. An absolute winner!
