This mother kangaroo has an extra special parcel in its pouch – a baby! The baby kangaroo (4 x 2cm) fits neatly into its mother's pouch and can be removed easily. The mother kangaroo is 11cm tall and 12cm long with soft sanded edges and is stained in many different shades of brown. Ostheimer German toymakers have been hand crafting fine natural wooden toys for more than 60 years. All items are sanded, painted with non-toxic stain, and varnished by hand, a process which ensures that each one is unique. Based on Margarete Ostheimer’s studies of both Waldorf (Steiner) pedagogy and anthroposophy these wooden figures are designed to emphasise the role of imagination in learning.
